HSI Olympians and World Champions Join Forces for a Memorable Thanksgiving Holiday

HSI athletes will participate in two of the most anticipated Thanksgiving charitable runs in the West Coast this holiday season.

Olympic gold medalist, Dawn Harper and 2-time World Champion, Torri Edwards will join over 10,000 runners at the annual Turkey Trot 5k/10k races in Dana Point on Thanksgiving Day. Organized under the banner of “Run, so others can eat,” Dawn Harper and Torri Edwards will lend their support to the dedicated runners. The run begins on Thanksgiving Day in the Dana Marina Center at 6:00am, so you’ll be sure to have burnt off enough calories to enjoy your Thanksgiving feast with your family.

Dawn and Torri will later join forces with Olympic gold and bronze medalist, David Neville; World Champions, Leroy Dixon and Rodney Martin; and NCAA Champion, Jason Richardson at the inaugural Santa Monica Gobble Wobble. HSI’s premiere athletes will be christening the Gobble Wobble 5K/10k races on Saturday, November 28th. Sure to be the start of an annual tradition for the city of Santa Monica, HSI athletes will promise to make the first one ever hard to beat! Partnering with the Westside Food Bank, the run will raise needed food donations for families across Los Angeles County.

When not on the track, field or court— HSI athletes strive to be champions in their communities and seek to make a difference in other people’s lives.
