Torri is looking forward the 2009 season. Last year's season was tough with disappointing moments in the Beijing Olympics. However, Torri is only looking forward and is determined to make this a great season! Her number one goal is to make the World Championships and medal as she has done in the past. She was a World Champion in 2003 and is ready to be one again this year.

2007 marked a great year for Torri. She started the season with an impressive personal best of 10.90 at the Adidas Track Classic (previous 10.93). She then won the 100m title at US Outdoor Championships (11.02) and took 3rd in the 200m (22.55). At the Osaka World Outdoor Championships she anchored the women's 4x100m to a gold medal.

Torri joined HSI right after graduating (BA) from college in 1999 and has been steadily climbing to the top in both the 100 and 200 meters. She is a native Southern Californian who excelled at Pomona High School and USC, one of the top track and field schools in the country.

While still at USC, Torri was ranked #5 in the nation in the 100 meters. This allowed her to participate at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney in the 4x100 meter relay her first year out of college. She earned a bronze medal with the rest of the team and her parents proudly display that in the entryway of their home. She describes her experiences there as “incredibly exciting.” “It was such a surprise for me to be chosen as part of the team,” said Torri. “It was a thrill for me to be a part of something so special and extraordinary. I will always remember it.”

Other career highlights include: 2003 World Outdoor 100m gold and 200m silver medalist; 2003 World Outdoor 4x100m silver medalist; 3rd at 2006 USA Outdoors 100m; 2003 U.S. Outdoor 100m & 200m champion; 2003 World Indoor bronze medalist; 2000 Olympic bronze medalist (4x100m).
